Microdermabrasion

Diamond microdermabrasion provides a non surgical skin refinish procedure, by using sterile diamond heads to abrade or rub off the top skin layer, then vacuum out any dirt and dead particles. This procedure removes skin debris, imperfections, blemishes, wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation on the skin. It also stimulates fibroblast production which in turn leads to formation of new collagen and elastin in the skin. Microdermabrasion helps replenish natural nutrients, restore cell activity, and promote skin health. The result after microdermabrasion treatment is usually a healthy, glowing and beautiful skin.

Which conditions demand microdermabrasion procedure?

Diamond microdermabrasion is generally used for: Rejuvenation of sun damaged skin on face, neck, shoulders, back, arms and legs. Reduction of age spots. Minimization of skin pigmentation. Reduction of acne and scars from past injury. Extraction of black heads and white heads. Reduction of oiliness of skin. Overall improvement in skin health.

How many treatments are required?

Results are normally visible after first treatment. For continued improvement, multiple treatments (5-10) scheduled 2-4 weeks apart are desired.

What is the after care?

Apply sun screen normally, moisturizer can also be applied if desired.

Are there any side effects?

Microdermabrasion is a very safe procedure with very rare side effects like minor bruising, redness or small abrasions which usually resolve within 2-3 days.
